Window install day

I paid someone to install my windows.

Not because I couldn’t do it. Because cutting into sheet metal on a vehicle I just bought with a tool I don’t own while hoping the seal stays watertight for ten years isn’t where I add value. A professional with a jig and a warranty is.

The windows

Two CR Laurence slider windows, driver’s side and passenger’s side, mid-body. About where your shoulders would be if you’re standing in the back. Materials and labor: worth every dollar to not drill the first holes myself.

The installer is a guy who does van conversions full-time. He’s done hundreds of these. He brought a paper template, marked the cut lines, double-checked with me, and had both windows in before I finished cleaning the driveway.

Why these windows

Sliders instead of fixed glass because airflow matters and I don’t trust roof vents alone. CR Laurence because that’s what everyone uses and I didn’t find a reason to pick something else. Tinted glass because Colorado sun is no joke and I’d like to sleep past 6 AM.

Also because having windows makes it feel less like a cargo van and more like a vehicle I’m actually building into something.
